Over the Edge is a special events company that provides signature events for non-profit organizations throughout the United States and Canada, with emerging markets in Central and South America, along with other parts of the World.  Participants raise donations for a non-profit in exchange for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rappel over the edge of a local high-rise building.  We are a fast-paced, hardworking team of professionals dedicated to providing top-notch service and an overall positive experience to our clients.

 

Job Description Overview
This professional will be tasked to work closely with the Griffith Family Trust (GFT) group of companies’ CEO, Paul Griffith, assisting him with the innovation mandate (see Appendix A attached). The Innovation Project Coordinator will be an instrumental part of this dynamic team. This highly professional person(s) must be interested in learning, have an entrepreneurial spirit, be willing to take risks and successfully operate outside their comfort zone. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, will be essential, along with being an effective salesperson with an established art for persuasion. Above all the incumbent must find a way to get it done!  The individual will have a blended role in both innovation (80%) and administrative support (20%) to the CEO.

Working Conditions

  • Full time 40 hrs per wk.
    • Potential for student option for part-time 24-32 hrs, dependent upon the candidate
  • Flexible but consistent work schedule
  • Halifax and virtual based
  • Travel approx. 4-5 days per month

Compensation

  • Full time salary base range: $41,500 - $48,500 per annum
  • Incentive and performance bonuses $10,000 - $25,000

About the Innovation Team Project

Mandate

To provide oversight and governance on the Operations, Customer Service, and Business Development aspects of our Over The Edge Global brand, while focusing on Innovation. As Over The Edge Global President, Mike Magee, and his team step into their new roles and expanded duties, CEO Paul Griffith, can fully engage in the these two primary aspects of his new position. 
 

What is Innovation?

Innovation is OTE project based into the investigation of unique business opportunities. These business opportunities may become new OTE business lines, associated business lines, or remain completely separate from our Over The Edge Global brand.  The common factor is they will all be under the Griffith Family Trust (GFT) group of companies and will be actively supported by those familiar with the CEO and GFT group of companies.

The Innovation Project has been broken down into three aspects: investigation, validation, and initiation.  In the first phase, we will need big thinkers that set no limits and are comfortable using blue ocean techniques and philosophies to identify and then navigate concepts through the research and exploration phase. To move the concept through the second phase will require fortitude, discipline, and skepticism to bring together a solid, comprehensive business case that will be thoroughly analyzed and scrutinized by industry experts and potential investors.  Then, the third phase will require expertise in relationship building and contract negotiation, so that fair and equitable long term partnerships can be forged with all key stakeholders. 


Next Steps

Additional support is needed; thus, we are hiring an Innovation Project Coordinator! We are seeking the right person to support the CEO with the above mandate. The Innovation team involves a select group of professionals with varying expertise who will investigate, validate and initiate new business opportunities.   The Innovation Project Coordinator will be an instrumental part of this dynamic team. We are seeking a seasoned professional interested in learning, has an entrepreneurial spirit, and who is willing to take risks and successfully operate outside their comfort zone. Exceptional analytical, research and communication skills, both verbal and written, will be essential along with being an effective salesperson with an established art for persuasion. Above all, the incumbent must find a way to get it done!

Participants are invited to raise pledges in exchange for the experience of rappelling over the edge of a local high-rise building.  As a fast paced growing company, we are searching for a Marketing and Sales Coordinator who embraces our mission and corporate values. This individual must thrive in a constantly changing environment; have a strong team spirit, commitment to make a difference and the ability to be part of something bigger than themselves.  

 

Job Description Overview
The Marketing and Sales Coordinator is responsible for supporting the company’s sales goals. An instrumental part of a sales team, producing solid results towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth, in line with company vision and values. Works with the Business Development Managers and Marketing and Sales Coordinators to build and coordinate in-depth sales, marketing and development strategies with the objectives of aggressively and responsibly expanding the Over the Edge client base, selling to well-suited potential partners.
